Skills for Employment and Lifelong Learning

(SELL)

 

The objective of the SELL program is to provide training for students to gain practical and applicable Canadian work experience through professionally relevant work placements.

This program offers three areas of training.

  1. A major focus on the language instruction
  2. Preparing for and orientation of the Canadian business culture
  3. Meaningful work experience

Admission criteria for SELL

  1. Be a Canadian Permanent Resident

  2. A Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment of minimum 6/6/6/6 in Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing. If you have not been assessed by an institution that provides Canadian Language Benchmarks, phone the Immigrant Language Vocational Assessment & Referral Centre (ILVARC) at 403-262-2656, and make an appointment for a language assessment test.

  3. A university degree and previous work experience in your field of education and training.

  4. Education assessment done by IQAS  (International Qualification Assessment Services) in Edmonton.
  5. A strong commitment and motivation to improve your language and employability skills.

  6. A background in one of these areas/industries:
    Accounting
    Finance
    All types of engineering
    ICT
    Oil &Gas related industries

This program is funded by Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry and Citizenship & Immigration Canada.
